A month later...

Day 289-323
April to MAY!
OK holy busy.  I mean 4 field trips, Nana coming back, parks, pools, cleaning, planning, organizing rethinking, BUSY.  We have been non- stop for a month, so when I just looked back to see my last post I realize it was a MONTH ago!  I know I cam at this gungho, but I tell you I am just praying for that 365 to appear and you know what? It is fast approaching.   42 more days!  Anyway in the past few weeks I have been getting my room ready for the summer, I will be switching rooms next year and CAN NOT WAIT, the room I am going into is gorgeous....even brighter and cleaner if that is possible!  I love the way it is set up and can not wait to put my own flare into it.  My new para and I are settling in nicely and are counting the days until school ends.  Not for any negative reasons, just because we want to start fresh with our new class.  I will retain 3 of the children I already have and get 4 more from Mr. Franken my Pre-k counterpart.  I adore working with him!  My room is being moved next to his to encourage more co-teaching.  Fine by me!
I won a cool award recently.  We have something called the Teacher Depot here.  It is an old school that has been converted to a warehouse almost, full of new and recycled materials.  Picture the hugest yard sale ever, but everything is free.  They open this up a few times a year and it is mass chaos I have heard.  Well my cadre ( please don't ask its like a mentor, so hard to explain), got me a ton of bottle caps and I had the class recreate Eric Carle's butterfly with the caps and then I hot glued them to foam board.  I entered this in the competition for best use of recycled materials, and I won!  So I got to go to the wearhouse and go in alone for 30 or so minutes and grab what I wanted, before they released the next runners up to come shop with me.  They then opened it up to the 100 people who entered their pictures or work.  It was very overwhelming, I thought I would have a panic attack!

 Ok so about the kids...

Baleigh was out of school for an entire week after she lost a fight with a palm frond.  Apparently they have shark teeth like razors at the base of them that are rather dangerous and she unfortunately stepped on one.  The cut was on an angle and deep, but due to the way it was sliced they would not stitch it, only glue it shut.
Payton has thoroughly enjoyed having Nana here, she gets to go out and explore and do so much without having her siblings around, she loves this!  Yesterday she went to the jump zone and had the time of her life, meeting several little girls her age their with very nice mommies according to Nana.
Jasper is off and running, literally.  He has been walking steadily now for over a month.  It is insane to see him go from this black haired peanut....to an amber blonde running giggling mess of fun!
The pool was closed after easter and did not reopen until last weekend.  We have practically lived their since and I am turning brown as a biscuit and loving it, heh, I wear SPF8...oil...and I Reapply!  The kids wear spf 90 and still are almost as brown as me!  Jasper loves his "pink cadillac" and frequents the pool as much as we do!  I have to admit, his nap time is quality tan time for me and super play time for the girls.  There is no jumping in the pool when Jas is there, so nap time is fun for all!  As for this lovely weekend, mothers day is here and unfortunately (for my selfish ass), my husband has been called to duty on base for " Fallen Hero".  A soldier is returning home to his family today....in a box :(  What a horrible thing, I will have to do a workout today in his memory.  I will find something I can do.  Today though we are going to the museum hop in Jax.  Cummer museum and MOSH are the two we will hit up.  It is free and Nana will be my copilot today!  We are meeting up with her friends for lunch at River City Brewing Company by the MOSH museum.  I will be starting a new version of PALEO on Monday called the Whole 30...so as my last cheat meal I will be having fish and chips today for lunch.  Sunday for mothers day Josh works, but we celebrated Mother's Day last night.  We gave Nana her nook cover that the girls and I made for her.  The pink leather breast cancer cover and we fabric glued NANA to it.  This is an inside joke....just appreciate how cool it looks and don't worry about the joke.   We will start our Mother's Day skyping Mimi and then head to church.  Tthe girls are excited to show Nana the church and the area of their new school.  We will then go to Blue Fish my FAVORITE place ever, for brunch.  We will then go to the park in the area and enjoy the beautiful day!  That is the plan anyway.  We shall see how long the kids hold up!  Happy blogging people...and hopefully I will get a chance to blog before the end of the school year!

Spring Break ends and Spring "HOLIDAY" begins!

Monday Day 269-Saturday 288

Well Spring break was  awesome to say the least.  A week full of sun, pool, and relaxing tanning.  I need another vacay soon, maybe I will learn to relax even more instead of cook, clean, organize and what not in the spare time of the day!  So recently I have become obsessed with a new website PALEOMG.COM  check her out she is hilarious and the food is awesome!  I always seem to have the stuff she cooks with!  Easter is fast approaching and she has piqued my interest on some of her recipes.  So going back to the last two weeks.  Nana came in on Thursday of Spring Break, we were thrilled to see her, it has been since Christmas after all!  The week back from spring break was great, could not believe how well behaved my class was!  I started plotting some Easter decor as you will see in the pics I am sure and we did these between reading and math lessons.  What a mess, but oh so fun!  I am thrilled that we get to wear jeans in the CSS department....trust me its needed with all we do!  ( on the floor, painting, gluing etc.)  Anywho, this past week was only 3 days long and to boot on the 4th day I got to be in my classroom alone which made me a happppppy girl ( would have been happier WITHOUT a lower GI bug...yeah).  This is not part of spring break this is what they call spring HOLIDAY...they are not allowed to associate spring break with Easter so they have us go back to school for a week in between so there is no correlation.  Hmm...I won't say a thing.   Who got alllll her portfolios for end of year?  Who got all the closet finished up and boxed for the move?  Who got progress reports, grades, comments, home notes and files organized???  THIS GIRL!   Ahhhh yes you see the words "move" in there?  I have to switch classrooms, 30 feet in a diagonal direction to the current grade2-3 class.  Huge, beautiful clean room I LOVE it.  Can not wait to get my hands on that awesome brand new wood desk that I will be receiving too with the high back teachers computer chair.  AHhhh :)  I also found out I will ( more than likely) be teaching a group of " high" children next fall, meaning K-1 very high functioning children.  I am very excited to be a part of their lives and see what I can bring to them, and them to me!  We have 5 teachers in our department and are losing 2 in the fall...so many changes to come I am sure.  Always a mystery!  So as I type this I am watching my son walk....12 steps he made it all the way across the living room.  Its funny he has been taking steps for weeks...but I think he is finally realizing that walking is way cooler and more fun and people cheer for him, so he is pretty much hanging on his feet now.    Okey Dokey....off to the zoo again today, apparently there is a water park and the kids are dying to play in it...we are fortunate to have Nana Babs here so she will be staying home hanging out with Jasper!  Thank you NANA!

SPRING BREAKKKKK!!!!!

 Days....ummm Monday 247-Sunday 268!

Ok I am so so far behind and I apologize...but you all follow Facebook anyway so there is not much you don't see there I am sure!  I really have no time to do any of this, between prepping meals, trying to work out and doing that thing..ya know...work..and the other thing...parent?  UGH!  So to catch you up then if you haven't already seen.  The past few weeks have been spent working with my classroom, lots of changes happened that I am not at liberty to discuss but regardless, it was a trying time for my students and myself.  I love my job...I love my principle, and I love my colleagues.  I am excited as we are already discussing next fall and what will happen, between room changes, new para's and new students it should be an adventure!  In the past few weeks Josh has been using his earned time because we are out of a babysitter, Nana Babs is on her way but had some obligations to uphold so we needed to make some temporary changes on our end.  The girls and Jas have loved having daddy home I am sure!  He is kind of paying for it in this coming week as he is about to work 7 12 hour shifts straight because of some exercises being run on the base.  Nana should be here at the end of the week or next weekend.  I have missed my neighbors terribly for 3 weeks they have been in Key West tormenting us with pictures of paradise...but honestly I have had a wonderful weekend ( albeit I am burnt to a crisp) with the kids and my husband pool side.  Our own mini paradise until we can vacation ( in 20 years!)  This week is spring break and I plan on relaxing, working on a different students IEP goals daily, spending time with the kids, cooking new fun recipes, and heading to the zoo a day or two.  I hope that I don't waste my spring break working too much, I really need to rest as I just am getting over a sinus infection and bronchitis...AGAIN.  Yikes.  Thank you to everyone who helped to celebrate Pip's 4th birthday!  How fun was that day.  No elaborate party needed... Saturday at the pool she thought all the people swimming were there for her birthday party! We were going to take her on the pirate ship Friday or Saturday but Josh has been informed that it is mandatory he works :(  BOOOOO...26 hours of O.T.  YAY!  So off to finish my paleo coconut curry meatballs...they smell delectable!

Brasilian Guitarist we went to see with the kids at school.  They are amazing...check them out on YouTube.

This guy freaked Bay and I out early on our way into school!  He was size of my fist roughly.
